these are fun too, but still with the 4.5-inch heels! boo!

too bad the heels are 4.5 inches. effectively 4 inches with the hidden half-inch platform, but still too high for me. i'm so done with anything over 3.5 inches.
so perhaps these cute flats instead. they have my size!

so even though i didn't end up keeping the sensuals, i did find another fun pair of shoes that day. and they were so perfect. when i tried them on, we all said, it looks like they already belong to me.
allow me to present ... the dreamy ...
not only do they fit perfectly, but it's like they were designed with me in mind. or perhaps they just made a hybrid of two other pairs i already have. the other two are obviously from seasons past, as evidenced by the wear. which makes finding the dreamy so timely! and! and! they already come with a rubber sole, so i don't even have to run over to the cobbler for that. so perfect!
see what i mean? so exciting because they've been coming out with a bunch of junk recently. finally, they're back to including at least some more subtle pieces. so 2 days later, i found myself on the shoe mezzanine in maison union square. unfortunately, the smallest size they had in the store was a 6. much too big. but i did try them on just for the look and they looked great. so i ordered them in my size. it took a while, but they eventually got delivered in two and a half weeks.
but booo ... the front was pinchy. way too narrow. so i went back to the store, where they had a 5.5. but that was way too roomy, even with two inserts! my goldilocks feetsies wondered if lv made a size 5.25, but no such luck. so we tried stretching the vamp. but even after a few days of that, didn't feel much of or any difference at all.
so bottom line ... if you're a true size 5 with skinny toes, you're in luck! especially since i was told that that pair was the only size 5 in the system. so after pulling them out of the system for a whole month, they're back! or at least they were as of a week ago. who knows, someone may have already swooped in on them.
the nicole pump by yves saint laurent in patent leather with a really fun print, which looks like the shoe was painted in gray and then a dry paintbrush was dragged across it to reveal the white underneath. very cool.
however, with 4"-plus heels, i didn't bother trying them on. BUT! i just saw the same shoes at saks with a 3.25" heel! ... almost the same but definitely a little more squat (and/or practical)
these are still in the consideration phase though. however, if they were in a darker graphite shade of gray, they'd belong to my feet by the end of the week ...
has anyone else seen this? it's basically a pink (i think patent leather) pump, with a heel sculpted in the shape of a flower, with the stem of the flower acting as the rest of the heel.

and yes, those gray patent boots are from the same fall/winter 2007 miu miu collection of brogue specator shoes that i've been talking about for the past five months (here, here, here and here). and yes, this will be the last entry about them. well, that is, after i purge a little. can't find the middle one in my size, but oh well, they don't fit so great anyway. and the other two have such classic coloring. i'm pretty sure i'll compliment whoever i see on the streets with any of them. (unless she's a size 5, then i might just find myself attacking her.)

and since i've got my feathers all ruffled at the moment, i might as well complain about a current trend i'm so not digging. exposed zippers. why would designers ruin a perfectly pretty dress with a completely exposed zipper, meaning even the edge of the tape is exposed. crazy and silly.

i asked like two different sales associates and neither knew the arrival date. i'd so pre-order this one if only the ruffly part were detachable. is it? doubtful.
sorry, it's not likely i'll stop obsessing until i get them. actually, i was in the general vicinity of saks this weekend, but figured i didn't need to make a stop lest i be disappointed yet again by another clueless SA. bah!
and fall items have been trickling in recently. a couple weeks ago, the first coats hit the floors. saw this dvf coat that i tried on in both black and ivory. i would have bought one in each color but then i saw that it was prominently displayed at neiman, saks and bloomingdales so you'll probably see this coat all over the place. well, not exactly all over the place since it's $695, but you'll see it around.
and besides, i'm in the market for a charcoal gray coat. i've got enough black and ivory ones. no need for more, although it is rather cute.
and oh(!) the anticipation for miu miu's fall shoe collection continues. i saw this lone shoe sitting among the prada collection and freaked out!! i flagged down a sales associate to see where the rest of the collection could be found. he said that this flat was the first and only miu miu shoe in so far.
you can be sure i'll be checking every day for the pumps to come in. i think i'll skip wearing the socks with them though.
and oh oh oh. ferro items at bv are being snatched up as quickly as they're getting into the store. i'm so all over that too.
oh man, they better have them in my size. and i mean they better! oh, and they better be comfortable. seriously, not even kidding.
but, fortunately, one style seems to be making a noticeable comeback: the spectator shoe (specifically wingtip detailing)! it's like they knew i blew out the heel on my vaurigards! i'm excited! looks like i'll have plenty to choose from ...
( alexandra neel ... derek lam ... giorgio armani ... ... gucci ... miu miu ... miu miu again )
i'm really feeling the miu miu options. haven't decided how i feel about the superfluous ruffle though.
i've been keeping an eye out for similar shoes (since i find loubies to be rather uncomfortable) but to no avail. maybe i'll have to give these a try and hope they aren't as unwearable as the other ones i've tried. doubtful though, at 4-3/4".
and the coloring looks different ... i'll definitely have to check it out in person.
